HO EDITORIAL .- The collaboration of the Generalist Valencia with the County and the city of Alicante will allow, as a pilot, seven museums C. Valencia open on Mondays in August and September, so that may be visited by the public seven days a week.
Informs, by means of a statement dated today, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, which has been promoting the initiative with the aim of reconciling the tourism potential of the region with its cultural assets.
The head of the department, Lola Johnson, announced that “from August 1 to September 30, the major museums in Valencia, Castellan and Alicante opened its doors Monday, with the aim of the large number of tourists visiting our Region during these months to enjoy our cultural offer. ”
“We should note, has explained; our Region, besides being a tourist destination of sun and sand is being placed in recent years as a cultural destination. Proof of this is that almost three million tourists visit us each year to visit our museums, theaters and concert halls. ”
The Government has also contacted the Federation of Hotel Valencia and Valencia Convention Bureau, to see firsthand the interests of industry and those related to cultural tourism.
Lola Johnson is important to work now “in advertising and promotion of this new pilot initiative to make it known to all tourists.”
The museums will open their doors on Monday of the months of August and September is the following:
- In Valencia, the Muse de Belles Arts San Poi V, the Centro Del Carmen and the Institute Valencia no de Arte Modern (IVAM), all managed directly by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
- In Alicante, the Provincial Archaeological Museum (MARQ), under the County and the City Museum (MUSA), managed by the City.
- In Castellan, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Sepia dart Contemporaneous, both included in the project Castillo Cultural Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
The statement ends by highlighting that, as reflected in the final Cultural Statistics Yearbook published by the Ministry of Culture, C. Valencia is located on the first national position regarding the development in recent years in the number of people visiting museums.
